What PickupGate is
PickupGate by EngageIQ is a planned AI answering-machine detection service for VICIdial and Vicibox operators. Traditional AMD relies on silence, timing, and word-count rules that can disconnect a live person before an agent has a chance to speak. PickupGate is designed to add a separate answer-classification path while leaving campaigns and the agent workflow in VICIdial. The service returns HUMAN or MACHINE decisions and is planned to fall back to HUMAN when detection is unavailable. That failure behavior favors preserving a possible live conversation, although a machine may reach an agent during fallback. PickupGate AMD is separately metered from PickupGate Honeypot and PickupGate Hops. Teams can evaluate the service against labeled examples from their own calls before expanding usage. Customer installation is subject to release availability and onboarding confirmation.
